Program Eligibility Criteria
The Safe Steps Transitional Housing Program is designed to prioritize families with the highest need while maintaining fairness, transparency, and compliance.
To be eligible for the Transitional Housing Program, applicants must:
- Be a single parent with at least one dependent child residing with them
- Demonstrate housing instability or imminent homelessness
- Be unable to access emergency shelter due to capacity limits, eligibility restrictions, or family composition
- Have some form of income or income potential, including employment, benefits, or pending assistance
- Be willing to participate in case management, financial education, and housing stabilization services
- Pass a basic screening and intake process
- Agree to comply with program rules and expectations
